Course Overview 

Since January 2023, the scope of reporting requirements and introduce new reporting standards, including mandatory sustainability reporting for all large companies and new reporting requirements for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). 

The programme aims to introduce the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) principles and requirements. The programme will help businesses prepare for the new reporting requirements and ensure compliance with the directive.

For the Participant: The programme is designed to help participants develop the skills and knowledge needed to implement sustainability reporting in their organisation effectively.

Indicative Course Overview

The one-day training programme on the CSRD is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the new reporting requirements and guidelines under the CSRD and to help businesses prepare for the transition to the new framework. The training programme suits professionals in various roles and industries, including sustainability managers, finance professionals, compliance officers, and other professionals involved in sustainability reporting and compliance.  

The course will cover the following topics:

  • Overview of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its requirements. 
  • Understanding the reporting obligations for companies falling under the scope of the CSRD. 
  • Introduction to the different sustainability reporting frameworks and standards such as GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP, etc. 
  • Best practices in sustainability reporting and how to align with the CSRD requirements. 
  • Overview of the main sustainability topics to be reported under the CSRD, such as greenhouse gas emissions, water use, social and employee matters, human rights, corruption, bribery, etc. 

The programme can also include discussions on challenges and opportunities related to sustainability reporting and the benefits of sustainability reporting for companies and stakeholders.

LEARNING ENVIRONMENT AND FACILITIES 

Training is delivered in GreenTech HQ’s new state-of-the-art bespoke dedicated training room, GreenTech HQ Sustainability Innovation Hub, located in Senan House, Enniscorthy, Co. Wexford. This is Ireland's first passive certified commercial building powered by rooftop solar panels, features eight air changes daily, electric car and bike charging points.

ENGAGEMENT AND MAXIMISING OPPORTUNITY FOR LEARNING

The programme will consist of interactive sessions with a mix of lecture-style presentations, discussions, group exercises, and case studies to keep participants engaged, accommodate different learning styles, and reinforce key concepts. It is also essential to have breaks for networking and personal reflection.
